Finally Settled In!

Sorry for taking so long to keep this blog updated. We have had some interesting times so far in PR. The traffic here is nuts it's not like anything we have ever seen before and customer services, well for a lack of a better word BLOWS!  We signed up for internet for our home and after two weeks of  no service and dozens of calls to the company we finally gave up and went with another company, part of the reason we didn't update our blog. Going to dinner is a several hour experince and waiting in line to pay for something takes FOR-EV-ER.
Miranda has been taking a Spanish class twice a week on the Coast Guard base and Mike has started working midnights at the Pet Hotel at Petsmart. Miranda is really enjoying her new office and co-workers and she is almost finished with her Yeoman Distances Learning course and will hopefully make Third Class Petty Officer soon.We were able to get released from government housing and after looking at only three different places we found the most amazing condo in Carolina, right near the San Juan Airport. There is a photo tour of our condo on Facebook if you care to take a peek. Miranda was able to purchase a 2003 Ford Explorer from a fellow Coastie for a great deal! It's nice to have a big car in the family.
Miranda's mom and friend Helen went on a cruise out of San Juan last week then stayed with us this past week. They brought us rum back from every island. Now we are prepared for when Mike's dad comes for a visit.  While they were here we drove to the west side of the island and went to Crash Boat Beach to go for a swim and catch some sun. We had a great time having house guests and we are miss them already and Mochi was sad to see his grandma go.
Well we are all settled into our new place and getting adjusted to life in PR. We love the warm weather and are making new friends. We look forward to exploring PR and the surrounding islands. We miss all of our friends and family and hope that you can come out to visit us and this beautiful island some time soon.

Busy, Busy, Busy

Well it's been a crazy week! We finally got all of our households goods pack up, which took three days full of problems. After getting everything out of the house we had to paint and get it deep cleaned. Monday we turned the house back over. Friday was my last day of work at the Firehouse and I had an award ceremony where I got a letter of appreciation, the letter was really nice. Friday evening Leah took the train in from New York to spend the weekend with us and we did karaoke Friday night with some friends of ours. Our friend Jason made Mike a home made lightstaber, I have to admit it was so cool that I want one. I left for Michigan on Monday and will be there for a week. Mike and I fly out to San Juan on the 29th and we will be living in a hotel for up to 60 days. It's been a stressful month trying to get everything done but it will be worth it once we get there.

The Craziness of the road ahead.

Well welcome to our blog. I hope to update this blog as much as possible. Hopefully this will give our friends and family a view of military life and our crazy life.

TGIF! This week week has been crazy! We started the week thinking we would be leaving for Washington DC this evening, with our good friends Kate & Q Vanvleck. But shit happens especially when you're in the Military. Q had duty tonight and couldn't trade so the Vanvleck's are leaving tomorrow and staying through till Monday. We can't join cause Mike and I both have to work Monday. But instead of DC my good friend Moentman, whom I know from boot camp, is coming out for the weekend and we will be spending Saturday with the Miles'.

Well as you all well know we are moving to Puerto Rico. All the paperwork for the move is finally done. Got our plane tickets booked we leave for Puerto Rico July 29th in the am. The moving truck was suppose to pick up our household goods this Wednesday but it now got pushed back to the following Monday and I learned that it will be hotel living in Puerto Rico for anywhere from 45 to 60 days. This move is a pain in the ass but I am sure once we get settled in it will be worth it.

Well I only have 5 more working days, thank God! I sold Mike's bike on Craigslist today so we are $50 richer and I found out that they are having an awards ceremony at work for me before I leave. Hmm I wonder what award I'm getting? Do they have a ribbon for doormat of the year?
